I have have been using this palette for a couple of months now after innocently strolling into Liberty of London and coming out with a bag full of beauty products-how does this always happen to me? For some strange reason I have never used any Hourglass products before, I think I must have been living under a rock considering how huge they are in the blogosphere. When I went over to the counter I was instantly drawn in, the packaging, the colours and the texture of the products had me sold there and then!
I have been been looking for a good bronzing and highlighter palette for a while, and the ambient lighting palette just seemed to tick all the boxes. There are three shades in this beautifully packaged pallet, a dark (contour type colour), a pale highlighter (perfect for lighting up under the eye area), and a mid tone, that gives you that finished look on all the parts you don’t want to highlight or contour.
The three colours included in the palette are Dim Light, Incandescent Light and Radiant Light.
Dim Light is a neutral beige tone powder and is the only shimmer free powder in the palette. I find this powder great for lightly brushing all over the face after foundation has been applied. It almost seems to bring foundation to life much like Macs Neutral Mineral Skin Finish.
Incandescent Light is a no fuss highlighter with very fine shimmer particles in the formula. I love this as a highlighter as it is not so shimmery that you look like a glitter ball after applying it, but it makes a noticeable Kim K difference, especially in photographs.
Radiant Light is a golden beige colour with slight shimmer particles that is perfect for contouring and giving you that sun kissed look. This is probably my most loved colour in the palette as it just seems to work with my skin tone.
Overall I am completely in love with this palette and am excited to try out more from the Hourglass collection.
